Night Shift Calendar in MS PROJECT 2010 / 2013

Hello,

again one of my Blog reader is in trouble: “SIR, PLEASE HELP ME IN MAKING A NIGHT SHIFT CALENDER WITH A DETAIED EXAMPLE WITH A BREAK DUARTION 01:00 AM TO 02:00 AM AND THE START TIME OF THIS SHIFT WILL BE FROM 06:00 PM IN MS PROJECT 2010.”

I di not get any further information about this problem, so I do not know is that night shift is for whole project or just for some resources, so I assume that is for whole project!

I will crate brand new Calendar:

Now I will create a brand new Calendar:

and then:

I will get this:

and:

Now I will assign this calendar to the whole Project like this:

Now, back to my Task:

and:

and finally:

As you can see the work will be from 18:00 to 03:00 with a break between 01:00 and 02:00!

Few Tips:

  1. If you assign a Resource with different work time, (Resource Calendars) this Calendar will take a precedence
  2. If you have a Task with specific Calendar it will take a precedence (High Priority)

Be aware of that.

Regards
